Family Camp 2008
Nearly 250 people from across all sections of the group gathered at Youlbury Scout Campsite on the weekend of 4th - 6th July to take part in the group's own version of the Olympic Games.
Competition was fierce throughout the weekend and games included races and challenges of many different types (although strangely, most appeared to be based on getting wet!). The main Olympic event concluded with a show jumping event with compititions between decorated pantomime horses trained by the parents!
Campers also took part in other more scouting related activities including 'Jacobs ladder', orienteering, climbing, abseiling and 3g swing.
The group held its AGM on the Saturday evening, where we saw presentations of the group's activities over the past couple of years. The group's new exec was elected and appeals were made for more adult help in all areas of the group. Simon then presented various awards but finally had the tables turned on him by the County Commissioner who presented him with a Medal of Merit.
There follow some photos of the weekend. If you have any that you think may be of interest to us, please email them to your section leader.
