Walton Firs Summer Camp

Ready? Steady? Go!

The theme of this years camp was based around the nearby Brooklands Museum which we visited on the Friday of camp.

16 Cubs, 5 Adults (and 4 other children) spent 4 nights under canvas and enjoyed(!) almost wall to wall showers, some of which were torrential and ensured the flooding of some tents on more than one occassion, but the cubs took it in their stride and did not let this stop them from making the most of the experience.

The cubs also enjoyed orienteering, hiking, crate stacking, caving and cooking their own meal among a busy and varied programme, the highlight of which we were joined by Skip & Rikki to visit Brooklands. While there we took a flight on concorde and then sheltered under the delta wings from one of the aforementioned showers. We also sat in F1 cars and fighter jets as well as finding out about the Museums oldest exhibit (and it wasn't even Skip!)

The camp finished on the Sunday with a presentation of certificates and lots of happy faces and some even happier Mums!
