Eagles Troop invade Paris
Eagle Scout Troop Trip to Disneyland Paris 2010
23 Scouts and 5 Leaders from the Eagle Scout Troop based at the 1st Burghfield and Sulhamstead Scout Group have just returned from a 3 day trip to Disneyland Paris, the Scouts helped raise part of the money needed for the trip by holding a car wash morning with the local garage ‘Spratleys of Mortimer', (which received a surprise visit from the local Police Force to have their Patrol Car washed), leaflet drops around the local area, an Easter Egg Hunt, Raffle, Bag Packing with ‘Sainsburys in Calcot', Car Boot sales, helping support the ‘Mortimer Scramble Club' by car parking over 500 cars over a weekend and manning the entrance gates,
The Leaders were lucky enough to receive a grant from the Greenham Common Trust to help pay for their travel and accommodation,
The Scouts all had a fantastic time enjoying the ‘Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, the scary rides, meeting all the Walt Disney characters and the death dropping ‘Tower of Terror' the fund raising also helped pay for the Euro Star trip and park entrance tickets, in total the Scouts raised between them over £3000 to towards the trip,
Their Scout Leader said ‘It is fantastic to see the Scouts able to focus on an activity that was only mentioned as a bit of a joke by one of the other Leaders, it just goes to show that anything is possible with enough support and determination both by the Scout Leaders, Scouts and Parents, I am very proud of them all for their efforts, Switzerland 2012 here we come'.
