Eagles Spring Camp 2009

Friday
On Friday night we all met up in a car park in Ashampstead and, with the help of a map (and Rikki), we set off hiking to the campsite. On the way, we met Skip and we all arrived at the campsite around 7pm where we had flag break and were told the camp rules and given our buddies for the weekend. We then set to, putting up our tents and when that was complete we had a Fish & Chip supper which was great…

Saturday
We all cooked our breakfast on the open fire that we had lit earlier.
After we cleared up, we were put into 2 teams to work on building our
pioneering project; one team was working on the draw bridge and the
other on the rope bridge.

The sun was shining and by lunch time we had made good progress. After
lunch, some of us started to make our flags and flag poles.

On Saturday night, we had a Man Hunt with the Leaders setting the trail
using ‘Glow Sticks’ for us to follow in the dark. It was very scary and
some of us got a little lost, but thankfully ‘Rikki’ was at hand to look
after us. Around the campfire, we had marshmallows and then went to bed
tired.

Sunday
The PL’s and APL’s cooked breakfast while the others laid a trail. While breakfast was being cleared up, the PL’s and APL’s followed the trail.

On Sunday afternoon, all the parents came and we had a great game of rounders and then a BBQ.
