Scout Camp 2008

During the summer holidays the Scouts attended the annual scout camp. If you would like to attend a future summer camp why not ask the Scout who attended how much fun it was and what activities they thought were best. The camp was a combined event with the Explorer Section of the group.

Some of the activities that the Scouts participated in were:

• Expedition hikes by foot and mountain bikes

• Survival skills (cooking on open fires, building cooking equipment and emergency shelters

• A trip to Brownsea Island (the site of the first scout camp in 1907)

• Camping in tents

• Working toward Outdoor Challenge and Fitness Challenge awards

Lots of fun was had by the Scouts who attended and also the Leadership Team. We would also like to hear any comments from attendees of the camp to add to this page.
